Call for stories
my mother died in 2003 at the age of seventy. Despite the years our adult-hoods overlapped, she never talked about the physical changes she experienced during and after menopause. Her silence left a void in my life, a void that I don't want my daughter, or my granddaughter to experience.
As I started working on my book, I noticed that other women were feeling the same void in their lives. My concern then extended to my own sisters, and the sisters of my heart. My story is dedicated to those women who share my genetic make up and to those who share my heart.
I invite you to share your story in my book. Your story should be guided but not limited to the paragraph and list of questions below.
The journey of the matured woman is a time when we are challenged to redefine ourselves, independent of fertility. I invite you to share your journey into and beyond menopause. Join with me, for you daughters and sisters, sharing the journey of the matured woman.
Tell me about the time when you stopped menstruating.
Tell me about your health issues since that time.
Tell me what lead up to your treatment choices.
Tell me about the treatment options you chose and the results.
If your health is good, what is different in your life, if anything?
(relationships, money, perceptions, spirituality, religion, career, dreams, etc.)
The stories will be reviewed for inclusion into the book. You will be notified if your story will be used and if you want to use your name or remain anonymous
if you would like to talk to me, please email or mail your phone number with good times to call you.
Thanks for your contributions. .
