Hello,

my question is, is there a link between migrianes and allergies?

For the past 3 days I have been experiencing a sharp, and throbbing pain behind my right eye, along with nausea (i usally wind up vomiting), blurred vision. I have been coping with a cold on top of all this. Yesterday, I went to the er due to the extreme pain I was experiencing and the vomiting. The docotor ran a cat scan and found nothing wrong. He said it was more than likely caused by the cold and allergies, due to the congestion. He gave me 2 prescritions for sudafued and migraine meds. I still have been experiencing the pain behind my right eye, the vomiting has stopped, but if I take the sudafued it goes away for awhile.
My qusetion is what could this be? A migraine or allergies? Or both? This also occurs early in the morning when I wake up and at nighttime.

I would appreciate any information anyone can give me on this.

Thank you,
katina holloway

It could very well be that the allergies are causing you some sort of sinus congestion or infection, and that's what your headaches are.

However, yes, lots of things can trigger migraines, and it's personal to each person who gets migraines.
