Good day to whomever reads this. My brother recently found out that his ex girlfriend is pregnant and she is pointing the finger at him being the father. My question is this, when do most doctors start counting how many weeks prego someone is, is it according to the day of conseption, or is it the day of her last period. Cause i'm pretty stumpped there. And also, is it regular for someone to get an internal ultrasound less than 3 months into a pregnancy? Thank you, i'll await a reply.

Yes they do the internal ultrasounds early in pregnancy because they have a higher frequency and you can get a picture of a smaller fetus. Also a doctor starts counting the weeks from the first day of a womans last period.

Have your brother ask his ex-girlfriend to have chorionic villus sampling to get dna for paternity testing. This is usually performed 8-13 weeks after the last menstrual period. He might want to find out now if he is the father or not, rather than wait until the child is born.

There is a chance of misscarrige in doing that test and I think it has to ve like very important to have it done.. Like if a person was raped and they
" need " to know asap and only if the mother consents to it.
