I get my birth control from my college health services, so I went yesterday to get my "summer supply." I asked for seven packs to last me through october, and it should even go through november. However, the expiration date on all of the packages is november 2006. Does anyone know if this means I have to use them before november? Or does it mean that after november they are no good? Ps the brand is desogen

From working in a pharmacy I can tell you that when a pill (not just birth control) is expired.. You can still take it... The dose will just not be as strong as it should be. So just make sure that you are using extra protection while taking the pills past the expiry date.

I would say to ask the health services for extra unexpired packs.... But with that being said, drugs do not automatically die at the expiration date, they do start to lose potentcy though. As a healthcare worker most drug comapnies say that the medicine should be good up to 6 months past expiration date, but I never take medicines past tyhe expiration date..

Well, I would ask for some that would last longer except that they close at the end of the semester for the summer and do not give out birth control from may to august, so this would basically be the best they have.
I guess I will just skip some placebo weeks to make sure I can use up my packs without wasting any!
