I have been taking aleese for the last 8 years and have always been very consistent with taking my pill regularly. I just went in for surgery recently and I was able to continue with my pills but was not always great about taking it at the same time of day like normal, yet I always made up for it the following day. I currently still have a week to go before my actual period is suppost to arrive and yet I dicovered that it has already come early. My question is do I continue taking the rest of my pills and just pretend it is all normal? Or do I stop taking them untill my period is over and then start a new cycle? Also why would this have happened if I had been taking the pills properly?

Continue taking the pills.... You only count your placebo week as a period, no matter if you bleed at any other time... If you stopped taking the pills early, even if you were bleeding, you would be compromising your protection. You need your 21 days of active pills, and 7 day placebos...You need to keep taking active pills even if you bleed..Some women frequently have spotting, it's normal, just keep taking the pills as usual.

If you were give an anti-biotic orally or through the iv for in case you might have gotten a post-surgical infection it could have messed up with your b/c pills or loweresd the effect. I am no dr but it should saay so on the box or information sheet.
Good luck!
