How can ferretin levels be low (12) and
haemoglobin be rising at 14.2

You don't have to be anemic to have
certain blood disorder. That is the case
with von willebrands disease where the
ferritin is low.

have just been told by my gp that my
ferritin levels are low at 15. Have been
given iron tabs but was wondering why
would these levels suddenly become low and
could this mean some underlying disease?

my daugter is 5 this month and she has
not been well 2weeks ago her nails started
lifting and my gp did a blood test on
feretin levels and thyroid the feretin
level came back at 12 they say low to
normal but my gp says it low and has given
here some ferrous sulphate syrup thyroid
was ok, she keep going very pale across
her ears and her forehead and saying she
has pain in her legs she slso keep getting
a bad cough and a bad chest everytime
antibiotics stop or steroids the systoms
come back i am very worried about her and
i was wondering if you could share some of
your knowledge with me could any thing
synister be happening with her i am so
upset as this has just all come about the
gp said he is going to refer her up to see
a consultant at our local hospital also he
never did a full blood count as she was
very distressed and the vain did not let
any more blood out i await your reply and
hope to hear from you soon thank-you.
