Q: Mono Twice ... Need Some Advice

I read the thread where someone had thought that they had mono twice and I have some questions ...

I had mono when I was in high school ... Around 16 yrs old. It didnt affect me all that much (besides swollen tonsils) because I had my spleen removed a year earlier (steph infection).

Well I am currently 24 years old and in the army. I have had swollen tonsils for a while now and went to get them checked out. Turns out that my mono test came back positive. The doctor said that I should just continue to do what I have been doing and it will go away. He said that since I dont have a spleen and the other test came back negative (i guess that means that there is nothing seriously wrong?) I should be fine. Well its been about 6 - 7 weeks (total) that have had mono. My tonsils are still swollen and I havent gotten a good nights sleep in who knows how long. Also I am experiencing a problem with some physical activity. Being in the army you do pt everyday (sometimes twice) and I have started to lag behind in runs and its really affecting me. What should I do? When I last talked to the doctor I asked him that if I dont feel better in 6 - 7 weeks should I return, and he just said "sure, then I will tell you to go back work because I cant give you anything to make it go away" .... I dont know what to do, and I need some advice

thank you in advance
