My last depo shot was may of last year and I still have not gotten a period. It is almost a year later and I am a little worried. I'm only 19 and I am freaked that I won't be able to conceve later in life. Please help me find out what is wrong with me. :(

I was told it would take up to a year in a half to two years before I would be able to get pregnant after coming off of the shot in nov. After being on the shot for two years

Infertility After Depo Provera
I was wondering what if any long term studies have been done on infertility and depo provera,,, I took injections after an unwanted pregnancy back in 1994 or 95. I was 26 then and I was on the shot for 2 years, after the shot I recall having a terrible time regaining my period, and was induced and then bled for a month after, before they begin to become normal. Now of course I was young and had 3 pregnancies that were aborted, but prior to the shot it seemed even on the pill that I would get pregnant if I touched a mans genitals. Anyways, after the shot I began trying to get pregnant after about 2yrs. I have been having unprotected sex, with 4 different parteners over the past 11 years. I got married 3 years ago and we have been trying infatically to no avail. My fertiltiy specialist sees no reason as to why I cant get pregnant, except my mid cycle progesterone level is not extrememly high,, just a bit above normal. I began only seeing a specialist after my marriage. Now I know that I am older, but I cant help to wonder if the depo provera had something to do with it. Its been 11 years now and still no pregnancies at all. Any help or directions to look would be greatly appreciated.

I Think There Is a Link Too!!
I've been ttc for 2 years after being on depo for 2 years. Now I have been told i've got remature ovarian failure (pof). All my periods went to pieces anyhting from 14 days to 160 days!!! As a result docs weren't overly concerned and only did fsh after a year of tests etc. Which came back high (56) and they have since diagnosed me with pof.

I really believe the depo just made things a whole lot worse.. Its a relatively new drug and the meds are still finding more and more adverse things about it as time goes on!

Depo & Fertility
After reading all of the horror stories on this site, and being on depo for 7 yrs, my husband and I decided to go off of it as we wanted to plan for a pregnancy next year. I did a lot of research due to the know complications coming off depo with regards to fertility returning, not to mention all of the posts I read. The most important things to know are that it does store in the body's tissues. Detox!!!Detox!!! Detox!!! I can't say enought for detoxing. I did one the week my shot expired hoping to help rid the drug, apparently it worked. My last shot was due nov 2006. The week after, my period returned and ovulation was right on schedule. I wanted to let everyone know that I was not expecting this, and am now 5 wks preggers! Not what we were planning at all. We are both a little shocked to say the least. So, drink lots of water, @ least 8 glassed a day to fush out your tissues where it stores. And finally, excercise, and try to stay at your recomended body weight. I fought the erges to eat my way throught the years on depo as recomended by my doctor after I gained 10lbs. It can be fought! And good luck ladies

I was on the depo shot for 7 years and i went off of it when i turned 18 i am 26 now. My periods never came back on there own. I have seen doctors they put me on a medicin to start my periods but soon as i stoped takeing them the period would go away. And my husband and i have been trying to get pregnant since i went off the shot. So now we are seeing a fertility doctor he says everythings fine with me and my husband but it was probly the shot why we have had so many problems. My doctor i had when i was on the depo shot didnt bother to tell me that you should not be on the shot for more than a year or two at a time.

I have been pregnant 4 times, 2 miscarriages then 2 babies 15 months apart. after my son was born on 7-7-7 I started the depo to give myself some assurance i wasn't gonna get pregnant too soon since i already had a one yr old and a newborn. My last shot was due in Feb. of '09 and i felt like by body needed to have a period so instead of the shot i started the pill...i had a really super light period 2 months back to back the pill was giving me real bad headaches and i decided it was time to have another baby so i stopped all birth control. now it is September '09 and I still have now periods and can't seem to get pregnant at all!!!
