Q: Lip Injury

Recently during a night out in town a fight broke out inside a bar, in which I had a bottle thrown/or hit? In my face. The bottle smashed and left me bleeding badly. A few days later although my teeth are aching I dont think any permanent damage has been done. However my bottom lip has completely split and there is a bit of lip that has popped up and is white in colour. My question is will this piece of lip, tissue or whatever eventually go down by itself or will it require medical care? Thanks in advance, paul.

Go And Get An Acc Claim Done
Paul,
you're in nz so any care you require for this injury will be covered by acc. You should go to a dentist or doctor asap. The cost of the consultation will be covered by acc - you shouldn't have to pay for anything. The most important thing is to get a claim put in, so any other issues caused by this accident in future will also be covered. This is really important for for a dental injury, because there's a high likelyhood of problems in the future, even if you think that you're teeth aren't damaged now. Sometimes when you get a knock in the teeth, the nerves die, but you don't have any symptoms until later, even years later. Go and get a claim put in and xrays done. Go! Now!
I don't know about your lip, tho, sorry. See a doctor or a dentist.
