I have missed my period for about a month and a half. I had an appointment with my obgyn back on february 2, 2006. Therefore, I am not pregnant. I took 2 home pregnancy test and I have not been sexually active for the past 3.5 months. If I start taking birth control without having a period for the past month and a half, will I start having regular periods again or should I just wait to start my period before taking birth control pills? Please help

Your best bet is to talk to your doctor. He would know best what the effect of the pill with have on you. He can also tell you what the side effects might be, and possibly assure you about what to expect on periond regularity.

Call the doc.
