Hi, I was surfing for some info for my pregnant daughter, then I came across this dude's blog.

(url removed)

and my daughter is currently taking zinc supplements everyday, after reading the page above, it made me wondering should my daughter continues taking it.

Can any1 clarify this for me?

Thank you in advanced. ; )

Not sure if it's the same everywhere but I got told the only thing you should be taking is folic acid for the first trimester, thats what my doc told me anyway! Hope that helps

Yeah but you can take a multi vitamin/mineral supplement when you're pregnant too and that contains zinc doesnt it?

I think that your daughter needs to speak with her ob. Maybe she should take a lower dosage of it if she really needs it for any reason.

Thanx For All the Helps!
:d I have emailed the blog owner (darren) personally and ask my daughter's gp opinion too. Now, she is still on zinc supplement as her gp has prescribed it for a preventive purpose which I dont really understand.

It seems that all darren's blog articles are reviewed by medline and its medically recognized. My daughter finds it quite interesting to follow esp throughout her pregnancy.

According to my son in law, darren updates his blog quite often and is very helpful when questions posted to him. I seldom read it as I think he uses too many medical terms which I dont understand well.

If your gp knows your daughter is pregnant and still prescribed it, then it should be safe. If you are still questioning it, get a second opinion. But I wouldn't trust a blog (no matter who it's reviewed by) over my family doctor.
