I've had a uti for two days now and I
bought the azo standard tablets thinking
they might help, but then read up on them
and it said if you're allergic to dye not
to take them. The only dye i've ever been
allergic to (as stupid as this may sound)
is hair dye, but it makes me wonder if the
azo's might cause the same allergic
reaction or one that's worse because of
taking it and it being internal rather
than external. As far as I know i've
never taken phenazopyridine. Any help
would be greatly appreciated, because this
is driving me crazy! :(

Is there a 1-800 on the box? You could
try calling that. I'm thinking they mean
the edible kind of dye (like red #4 or
something) not hair dye that is topical.
As has been my experience, once i'm bad
enough to need azo's, i'm bad enough to be
seen by the doctor.
Good luck, uti's suck!

Ok, at first it seemed that this had
cleared up. I was beginning to urinate
normally, and everything seemed ok. Early
this morning I woke up with the urge to
pee, and when I did I seemed to be peeing
blood. It's almost time for my period
though too, which i'm currently waiting
for so i'm not sure which one it is. I
know this is probably going to sound odd,
but my urine also smells kind of like
bacon? (if that makes any sense.. It's
quite a bit embarassing to say the
least).. I feel crampy though like it may
be my period. The last time this happened
I *was* peeing a great amount of blood,
but I didn't feel crampy. Does anyone
have any suggestions? As stated in some
of my older posts I can't go to the doctor
due to no insurance, etc so that's out of
the question.
