Hi, I am a 21 year old, healthy, smart,
working woman. I would say I am a fairly
new ecstacy user, and I dont really think
I have gotten to the point of "addiction"
yet...But I am worried. I started taking
ecstacy about 4 months ago, 1 tab every
other friday, today I take ecstacy pretty
much every friday, 1 1/2 tabs. For me,
the main and almost sole reason I continue
to take e is because I love how it makes
me feel. I am happy, excited, personable,
social, fun...I always take it with my
best friend before we head out to our
regular friday night pub. I havent taken
it any other times besides my friday
nights, as I said, its mostly a social
tool. I have met some really amazing
people I probably never would have talked
to if it wasnt for the e, for me its
perfect. The thing is, I know each time I
pop a tab, it could be the last time I do
anything, I know how dangerous e is, and
luckily I get mine from a very trusted
source...But still. It only takes one to
kill you. I dont think I want to give it
up, its something I have grown to love,
and I just dont seem to have as much fun
without it. Well, thats not true, I do
want to give it up...But I dont think I
can really.
So my question is, what is a safe and
relatively risk free drug that matches the
high I get from e? I smoke pot regularly
too, and I still love pot and enjoy my
high, but it just isnt the same. It
doesnt last as long...I know this is
proably a pretty shitty question to be
asking in an addiction, recovery
forum....But maybe it could save my life..

There is no "safe" drug out there that
matches e and there is no "trusted" souce
that really knows what is in his tablets
(he is just the dealer). Usually these
drugs are made in some crack house and the
person making them will usually put cheap
drugs in the tablet-like
crack/speed/cocaine to save
money...Normally it is never pure and
hasn't been for a long time. You are
destroying your body and doctors have no
idea what the long term effect is until
the x generation gets older and your
generation. You are putting toxins in
your body and people do die from x. In
all this mess your liver is the one
suffering-once your liver goes that's it.
I would try to cut this past time out. I
was a emt and I can't tell you the
countless times we arrived at a rave party
and would see some young girl od on x.
Treat your body like gold!! You may say
"i'm young so who cares..But time has a
way of moving forward so don't be forty
with a liver and heart of an eighty year
old. These drugs age your organs so you
may be thirty one day but your heart will
be that of a 46 year old..Take care of
yourself!!!!!

As usual people are very mis-informed
(jazzybell here) and are quoting totally
wrong facts:
1. You have more chance of dying from a
peanut allergy than from taking ecstasy.
I'm not saying ecstasy is a safe drug as
there is no such thing.
2. To say that dealers cut their pills
with crack or cocaine when those
substances alone cost nearly 4 to 5 times
more than mdma (3, 4
methylenedioxymethylamphetamine) is just
plain stupid. Why would anyone do that???
It would be the same as selling platinum
for silver!
3. Ecstasy and cases of liver failure are
very rare and are generally due to people
giving ill advise such as drinking too
much water. Most ecstasy death related
(in the uk) were due to people being plain
stupid and taking 6/7 pills and loads of
alcohol for example...
4. There is no sign of proven research to
show that mdma or ecstasy has long term
effects (we might have to wait a few years
for that).
5. There is over 22000 deaths in the uk
alone due to alcohol every year and approx
less than 1 death per year due to
ecstasy...But there is no tax money to be
made of ecstasy...
Now I was like you at your age and had my
ecstasy honeymoon for a few years. But
then it started to fade away as the highs
weren't worth the low anymore and I
couldn't bare wasting my week-ends away
coming down. I think one day or another
you will grow tired of it and you will
move on...

Yeah I guess being an emt here in miami I
wouldn't know-nice advice about telling
everyone that you hardly have a chance of
not dying. These days the x pills are
beyond weak so kids wind up taking six to
ten pills I doubt you are a doctor (big
bull) because the crap I have seen. X is
just crap now on the streets-in fact one
weekend we picked up a twenty year old
dead in her backseat with x in her
system. She was so out of it she choked
on her vomit. One bad effect leads to
another. The point is telling younger
people to just stay away.I have plenty of
stories like 29 year old mother shot in
the face over two x pills-drug deal gone
wrong. The fact is one shady deal will
lead you to another

To start with, I have a phd in bio-science
so actually I am a doctor -- but why does
that matter anyway? This is a site where
people come for advice, and I think the
best advice you can give someone is the
truth...(a concept clearly lost in the us
since the new millenium...)
ecstasy death related in the us in 2000:
63 and only 6 of those involved mdma only
(others were taken in combination with
other drugs).
Gun crime death related in the us per
year: around 28,874... :roll:
i think people getting shot dealing drugs
is really another problem linked to your
laws in the us.
I would never recommend anyone to take
drugs -- I would probably tell them to
stay away from them too. But giving ill
or wrong advice/info such as ecstasy is
now cut with cocaine or heroin is just
stupid. :roll:

after the guy's girlfriend got shot in the
foot-we show up to his nasty lab and let
me tell you it isn't pure x going in those
pills. We couldn't even go in there to
get her and had to wait for dea agents it

crap. Why would you buy anything that
comes from a place that is so gross to

I'm sure you have never taken ecstasy in

give accurate answer to people exactly
when you don't even know what you're
talking about? Go and chase nasty
labs...
One last thing, there is no such thing as
winning the war on drugs...20 years you
have been at it...There is more drugs in
the world today than ever before. Maybe
its time to take a different approach

a lab is? This place was crawling with
roaches-dirty diapers-guns-used condoms
(everywhere) crack cocaine rocks -bloody
needles-drug addicts in the next room high
on god knows what-so bad we had to take
them to jackson hospital-a baby who was
taken away and a guy in a whole abunch of
trouble. Oh, let me buy some of

Look this started out by telling my
experience by what I saw when I was an
emt. I've seen it all and now I work in a
hospital so I see even worse. My advice
to the girl who is 21 is stay healthy. I
see patients with failing hearts in such
grief and pain. They would kill to be
you. Take care of yourself and know that
when you take drugs you are harming
yourself.
I'll say this and then leave this alone.
When you do drugs,usually, your heart-rate
spikes up to high levels..When you do
drugs on a regular basis you are harming
your heart. We see enlarge hearts all the
time from damage they did when they did
drugs or other things. It's your life
just live it the way you want.
