Hi everyone.
My wife and I have both put on a few pound since getting married two years ago, so we are trying to slim down. She has made a new rule that nothing that contains high fructose corn syrup (hfcs) can be bought. I was just fine with it until I wanted to buy some guava juice to try it out. When she checked the label it said that it was sweetened by hfcs so she insisted that we stay with the orange juice we usually bought. So I in turn checked the label of the orange juice. Although it was naturally sweetened (no hfcs), it contained the same amount of sugar overall. I instinctively tried to act like I knew what I was talking about and told her that sugar is sugar and it didn’t make a difference. She didn’t buy it (literaly). So... Is sugar just sugar? Or not?

Of course I am talking about as it applies to weight loss. I don’t care that hfcs can give you gas, because I don’t eat that much anyway. I don’t have diabetes or any mineral deficiencies.

I cut out all HFCS and juice and it made a big differnce in regards to my weight. I came across an article by Bryan marcel that explained it.
It makes perfect sense. He also doesn't like artificial sweetenrs, truvia or agave. I have tried to cut out most sweeteners. If I use or buy anything that is sweetened I make sure that it is with organic sugar.
