Pregnant Or Just Paranoid? Posted: 04-18-06 19:06pm
Hi, i'm lindsay, i'm 15, 16 in september.
I have a boyfriend of 4 months (4 months
today actually :]) and I love him very
very much and he loves me very much.
We're in a healthy relationship. He's the
second person i've 'had sex' with for the
reason that we wanted to connect on
another level. We've been safe most of
the time, sometimes he just pulls out,
though we both know that I could get
pregnant.
Recently i've been feeling extra-tired,
more hungry yet my stomach hurts almost
constantly, and my breasts are tender and
I have to use the restroom almost twice as
much. Yesterday, it being just a few days
before my expected period, I tested but it
came up negative. Today I got my
'period' but its very light (i'm normally
heavy at first) and I do not have my
normal terrible cramping I get on the
first day of my period.
I'm guessing its all in my head, but
should I test again a week from now? Even
if my 'period' lasts to its normal term?
Could a subconcious paranoia be causing my
so called 'symptoms'?
I worry almost every month just because I
think every girl that's sexually active
does, and should, but i've never worried
this much.

You could be, if you're going to have sex
you need to use protection. You're
fifteen, and in a 4 month relationship.
Uuuuuuuuuuuseeeeeeeeee
ppppprrrrroootecttttttiiiiiooooonnn, or
else you're asking to get pregnant.
Wait a little bit and get a test.

I understand completely that we need to
use protection and I take complete
responsibility in anything that comes from
not using it. I didn't want to come here
to hear that because its something I
already know.
I also wanted to say, and not just to you,
that just because i'm 15 and in yes, only
a 4 month relationship, having unprotected
sex, doesn't make me immatture or
irresponsible or stupid. I know what i'm
getting myself into and over the course of
almost a year (sounds terrible, I know,
the first time I had sex was an honest and
stupid mistake but since then i've learned
to take more responsibility) having
unprotected sex every once and a while has
been fine for me. Not saying its
completely fine, or a good choice, I just
don't want to come off as 'slutty' or
careless to the rest of you.

Yeah, im just saying it only takes once.
You may have protected sex the rest of the
time, but the one time you have him pull
out, is the time you could get pregnant.
Honest question, do you want to get
pregnant?
What will you do if you are pregnant?

No, I don't want to get pregnant. As much
as i'd love to when I can fully support
the child, I know that it would take a lot
for me to be a mother and I could fufill
the dreams I have in life. If I were to
get pregnant I would accept complete
responsibility. I'm entirely opposed to
abortion. As for adoption, i'd consider
it, but I don't know if emotionally I
could go through with it. In the end,
i'd probably keep it and try my hardest to
finish as much schooling as possible, as
well as get as much outside help as I
could.
Does anyone else have any opinions?

[lecture]first things first - pre-cum can
and often (usualy) does contain sperm.
Sometimes it is only a few thousand,
sometimes a million or so - yes that's
right and it only takes one to
get you pregnant[/lecture]
ok so at 16 there is a high liklihood that
your body is changing anyway - developing
and so forth - for most girls this isn't
complete until around 19, so a change in
your periods isn't unusual.
Sometimes a period without cramping, or
lighter than usual can mean that you
actually didn't ovulate that month.
If the period bleeding lasts for more than
a day and is more than "spotting" then in
all seriousness I doubt you are
pregnant.
(yes, I am aware that there are some
people who continue to have period like
bleeds through their entire pregnancy)
implantation bleeding is light and brief
and usually occurs about 3-4 days before
you would have expected your period.
So, back into lecture mode, use condoms
for a week, take another test (even if you
got your period just to put your mind at
rest).
Then, get on some extra birth control such
as the pill, try to remember to use
condoms anyway as each method is only
about 98-99% efective when used 100%
correctly.

Oh deary... You sound like you a in a
pickle..
Seriously tho you want to think about yur
actions a little more.. You are only 15
in a 4 months relationship.. That is your
decision and I respect that but however
the things you doing can end up in a
serious change.. Just be careful with
what you do ok..
Good luck :)

can.... Let us know with the results
hunny.. Good luck with the results..
And if you were pregnant and your agaisnt
abortion you could always put the baby up
for adoption and help some other family in
need.. :)
