Am I Having Auras Or Anxiety Attacks? Posted: 04-17-06 14:52pm
Hello, I am new to this, just found this
forum and I hope to get in on some
discussions, particularly a situation I am
curious about.
I came off zoloft march 2005. In may
2005, day before my menstral cycle, I had
one of my "spells" I would call it. Which
i've had for many years, leading back to
my son's birth, 1990- I think even before
that, but very very few and far between
then so I don't even recall for sure if I
did. Anyway, where I would experienc
strong deja-vu, which until recently never
thought to explain it that way until i've
read much on the internet and said, "yea,
that's what I do". Anyway, I seem to
have the spell when i'm keyed up. Or
stressed out, and after it's over, I feel
calm, little tired but calm. It's
basically like this, it comes on, I think
to myself, i've had this thought
before,exactly same thought each time,
music I hear in my head, same thing each
time. I feel a little flush, startled
almost, but not scared really, I think
because without incident nothing bad has
ever happened from it. I feel little
buzzy headed, and nobody would ever know
but me i'm doing it, I lay my head down,
30 sec maybe and it's over. But in may
last year I was in the car with my son,
and had this "aura" is guess, if that is
what it is. Or panic attack. But next
thing I know I was passed out, woke up and
if it wasn't for him saying "mom I think
you just had a seizure, I woulda thought I
just passed out. I woke up totally with
it, not confused, I remember what happened
exactly. Went on about my business. I
went to Dr. They checked blood for a few
simple things, blood pressure, diabetes,
thyroid etc. Nothing. He said wait see
if I do it again.(passed out) never did,
it's been a year. I have had the spells,
always around my period now that i'm
paying attention to it, which for years I
dont recall if it was premenstral or not.
But coincidence I had just come off zoloft
month before? What are the chances i've
had seizures without incidence for this
many years is what freaks me out. I've
been on roller coasters, drank, been
drunk. Nothing happend, taken several
different anti de-depr. Never a seizure.
Would this be epilepsy if it doesn't
happen often? Especially not even being
on any anti-seizure meds. These spells
are so mild I could even live with them.
Any input i'd appreciate..
