Q: Heavy Blood Loss, Pains And Yet Egg Sack Grown? Help!

I'm now 9 1/2 weeks pregnant, at 8 1/2 weeks I began spotting with blood which over the course of a few days became heavy and red. I had acute cramping and lost a lot of blood clots, I was convinced I had miscarried. I went for a follow up scan today and explained what had happened and my womb was checked to make sure it was empty. It wasn't! The egg sack remains and infact it has grown!! However, they could not get a clear look at what was inside the sack. I have irregular periods and they think I may not be as far along as i'd thought.I had blood taken and have to again wednesday to compare the pregnancy levels. I should know wednesday evening if it fell or rose.
Someone said maybe it was twins and i'd lost one?
Since returning home after having the internal scan, I had the most awful stomach ache (he was none too gentle with the scanner!), and I have lost a massive clot, since then the pains have almost subsided. I know if that was the baby then my levels will significantly drop. The waiting is the worst. I just wondered if anyone has any suggestions or ideas, any thing would be gratefully accepted. I know I just have to wait and see and no-one knows but has this happened to anyone else? Can things continue? Personally I feel i've lost too much blood and had too much pain for everything to be okay.
Look forward to your comments. Chrissie

Hun that does not sound good. Has the doc had any input on what it may be or what the clot was? I have never been pregnant but I feel for you. I hope everything is ok with you & your baby! Good luck hun!!

You know what doctors are like, they don't commit to saying anything incase they are wrong. This evening I should get my results of the pregnancy hormone blood tests, so its still wait and see i'm afraid! I'm still bleeding although the pain has now subsided. The results should give more idea, either way they'll probably have to scan me very soon, either to check the womb is empty if the levels have dropped, or to see the progress if the levels have risen. I will get back to you with what they say. Thanks for your comments.

Update
My hormone levels dropped significantly, although I so wanted this baby, its a relief to finally know the outcome - that i've miscarried. Given the awful pains i'd had and the blood, there seemed little hope but you always cling on to the chance however remote it seems.
At least I now know where we stand, this is the third miscarriage i've had and having gone through so much, we've no intention have trying again, my husband and I are very close and have each other and thats more than some people have!
I'm to be rescanned next week and they will just make sure I don't need a d&c.
Thanks again.

Another Update!
Just returned from my final scan, my womb is now empty and I didn't need a d&c. It's been a long few weeks of uncertainty.
I think some way down the line I will get some blood work done but for now I just need to take a while to "heal".
Thank you all so much - I love you all - you help me stay strong at my lowest times.

any ideas
i am 8 and half weeks pregnant and have been told that i have a egg sac with no embryo which means i have an unfertilised egg and will at some point miscarry, I have no bleeding and some vague cramp pains. I have no idea what any of this means. I m not sure if i am pregnant or not have all the symptoms and they haven't checked my bloods, the egg sac is bigger than last week. I was going to the early pregnancy servcie because a week ago they thought i had an eptopic pregnancy because i have shoulder pain. Today they broke this happy news as if it was expected. I don't know what to think.

I'm sorry
I'm so sorry that you face all this uncertainty, as I said when I was experiencing this its the not knowing that is the worst really.

It's impossible to say for sure what is happening, i only wish I had some answers for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and if you want to talk, you know where I am x
