I'm 53 and i've been suffering from severe upper back pain on and off after pushing heavy weight in a gym doing bench presses some 25 years ago. The pain has been most acute for the last two months with no sign of easing. Even sitting with my back resting against a soft pillow triggers the pain. When I run my finger along my spine, I can feel something like a loose ligament where my pain originates. Even touching it triggers a small stabbing pain that lingers for a few minutes. After doing a litte research, I think the cause of my pain might be some damage to the supraspinous ligament as a result of putting all that extra weith on my spine during my gym workouts. If so, would anyone know the right treatment to get rid of the pain and make sure it will never return?
