Loosing Weight
Posted: 04-14-06 15:26pm

I am 14 weeks and still loosing weight. When I went to the doc the first time - at about 4 weeks I was 122. I am normally 118 so I figured that was good. Then I went back the next month and was 121. Went back last week and was 118! I had a problem so I had to go in again this week and now i'm 117. That less then what I normally weigh. I have had no morning sickness what so ever! Then doc assumed I did have it and that was why I was loosing the weight. Should I be worried? I thought you only loose in the 1st trimester because of getting sick.

are you exercising or exerting yuorself in any way?? Are you eating right? If you exercise during pregnancy (outside of walking) that could cause it. Along with not eating correctly.

On a side note: doing more than walking while prego is bad. No lifting over 5 pounds, and definately no crunches. Walking is the only thing recommended during pregnancy.

if you are active in your life before pregnancy, there is no reason you cannot continue to be active. Aerobics, swimming, walking and jogging are all fine to continue - not to start during pregnancy.

Weight shouldn't be an issue for you yet. It is in the later portion of pregnancy that you gain.

If you are ever concerned about anything regarding your pregnancy, please call your doctor's office. You can always speak with his nurse!

Good luck.

I don't think i'd take a trip to the track and start the timer while preggy, ya know? I'm not even allowed to skip to mah lou!! Lol...I'm sooo huge, my center of gravity is waaaay off...I busted my ass the other day doing something I totally thought I could do....Guess I was wrong!!

I wouldn't suggest jogging or running...Hey...All .Drs are different and so is the advice they give....Call .Y.O.U.R .Dr and see what he/she says....

Good .Luck...

ive always been told (including yesterday at my ob) that walking is the only acceptable form of exercise while ur prego.

my doctor told me to ride my stationary bike or go swimming (neither of which I do now or have done anytime in the recent past). I don't think walking is the only acceptable form of exercise. Maybe your doc meant that specifically for you?

Some women do this during pregnancy especially with morning sickness. I have known women that do not even look pregnant until they are over half way there. The main thing is is not to get dehydrated and stressed and at least try to eat at least some ginger ale and crackers, even though I am not a dr, I do know this from past experience. I do hope you get to doing better soon! Have they done an u/s on you, that would be my suggestion. I was that way with my daughter and she was fine!
I noticed in your post that you had no morning sickness, I am sorry, I mis-understood, ask your dr about some ensure or something like that but I would definitely ask ffor an u/s.
I do wish you the best!

Keep in touch.

I never suggested anything. I said if you are a runner/jogger or an avid exerciser, you don't need to stop because you are pregnant. Pregnancy is not an excuse to be lazy. Towards the end, when you get larger, it is advised to slow down. But when you are first pregnant you can continue with the majority of your activities as usual.
