I was recently diagnosed with hep c. I am
most concerned that my wife and child may
have contacted it from me through the use
of toothbrushes and razors.(i know sex is
a liklyhood too)
i was wondering if anyone could tell me
how long hep c can live in blood outside
of the body. I am very worried, any
insight would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Hi, it would be wise for your wife and
child to have a blood test to be screened
for the hepc. You have been diagnosed as
having the virus, but have no idea for how
long you have had it? I would recommend
you wife and child having the blood test
to make certain they do not test positive
as well. I have a very good friend, who
has had hep c for years. She is an rn and
believed she contracted it when working in
hte hospital, years before her 23 year old
son was even born. Yet, she had him
tested as well as her husband. Both were
free of the hepc, but its better to be
safe than sorry. I wish you all the lick
in the world with the treatments. I know
lots of people wiht hepc and they are
doing wonderul! Take care of yourself!
