Previous M/c, Now Scared For This Pregnancy
Posted: 04-14-06 10:57am

Hi,

i recently had a m/c (beginning of march), but I got pregnant again very quickly (it only took 2 weeks). My Dr. Said to wait at least one full cycle, but I guess we couldn't wait. I don't see the Dr. Until may 1, but I am terrified that I will miscarry again. I thought about it so much yesterday that I made myself sick to my stomach. Like most of who have miscarried in the past, I wanted my baby so badly and to lose him/her was really hard, although I also lost a baby at 37 weeks, so I like to think that we have been through enough heartache. I pray that god will allow us to carry this baby to term and have a healthy baby.

I guess what I would like to know is if anyone else got preggo so quickly after a miscarriage and if the outcome was a good one. I hate worrying myself so much, partly because I don't know if i'm worrying because of the previous miscarriage or because subconsciously I know there is something wrong with the baby/pregnancy (lately i've been getting a shooting pain where sideaches occur. It only lasts for about a second and then it's gone, but it happens at least once or twice a day).

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

I think it's normal to be nervous after a miscarriage. I had one at 13 weeks (but the baby had actually died at 8 weeks) and it was the most devastating thing i've ever had to go through. I'm pregnant again but it didn't happen right away, it took 4 months. Every doctor says something different, my doctor told me we could start trying again right away so I don't know how important it is to have a normal cycle before conceiving again. Honestly I don't think it's a big deal and I don't think it will have anything to do with causing a miscarriage. I think pregnancy is extremely nerve racking and you kind of just have to go with it and think positively. If you have any concerns you can call your doctor and talk on the phone or maybe they'll let you come in earlier. I was told because of the type of miscarriage I had it would be very rare to have another so that kind of eased my mind a bit. So maybe you should call them and ask about that. Also, I think the pains you say you're having are normal but if you're worried you should definitely call them. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm sure everything will be fine, just think positively (easier said than done, I know)!

Hun, its perfectly normal to have these doubts. I lost a baby at 24 weeks and I know that that its a bit different. I am pregnant now 23 weeks and I keep thinking the same thoughts as you, will I loose this one too? Like others have told me, it's easier said then done, but just try to relax and have good thoughts about this pregnancy. The less stress on your body the better.

I wish you guys all the best.

If you don't mind me asking, how did your 37 week old pass? Did he/she die in utero, or was he/she born and pass?

I'm just wondering because I was involved in a car accident at 35 weeks and to know that it's possible to lose your baby at such a good gestational age has .G.O.T to be devastating!!!!!!

hi,

my son actually died in utero due to a cord accident (he had the cord around his neck 2 times and around his body in a x).

Losing my son was definitely the hardest thing that I have ever had to go through. I always told myself that I never wanted to feel what I went through after losing my son again ( I cried for three months straight, until I got preggy again with my 2nd son), but then I had the miscarriage and the same feeling came up again. It sucked more than words can describe, so i'm really glad that i'm preggy again, but i'm just hoping for the best and expecting for the worst (just in case).

Did you get checked (u/s, etc) after your car accident?

Good luck with your pregnancy.

Thanks for your responses. I needed the reassurance all of you have given me.

Thanks again and good luck to all of you who are preggy for the first time or again.

Naah, I called my .Dr and he told me if I started to leak fluids(waters), bleed, or cramp, to go straight to labor and delivery. Nothing ever came up and the baby started moving very soon after the wreck. The wreck was only serious enough to damage my car. The airbag didn't come out and I had my seatbelt on...

I really hope that all goes well with your pregnancy. I have a feeling that this one was meant to be!!!

Good .Luck!!
