Hi I have 2 children who both suffer from atypical absence seizures. My son is currently taking topamax, which is working quite well, although he still has seizures every day.
My daughter has been on keppra for a couple of months now and we are experiencing aggressive and violent outbursts, and some other personality and behaviour changes.
Has any one else any experience of keppra they would'nt mind sharing with me?
This is the 4th drug we have tried in the space of a year and are unsure of whether the drug is affecting her behaviour or its just her way of dealing with, or not dealing with the epilepsy. My daughter was diagnosed at aged 14 months but had a 3 year period of being seizure free. At aged 10 the seizures returned with a vengeance and I know she has struggled to deal with the changes. She also has moderate learning difficulties which makes explaining things harder as well as talking about feelings.
I would appreciate any advice anyone can give me, we are due back at the neurologists on monday to discuss whether to take her off the drug but we have been told we are running out of drug options.

I take keppra. I don't think i'm aggressive, but then again, I don't always take my medication. I think this medication works good for me, though. However, I do think that this might cause me vaginal yeast infections.
