26 Weeks With Breastmilk Already?
Posted: 01-06-04 12:13pm

Hello. I am twenty six week and I already have breast milk... Is this normal to have it already? I might add at beginning of pregnancy doctors thought I was due mar.17/04 then they changed it to april 17/04... And I strongly feel that im due in march not april..... Anyone else in this situation?

I am having trouble because I am now 36 weeks pregnant and don't have any milk yet. I really wanna breast feed the baby, but I am worried that I do not have any right now, I am very happy for you sence you know that breast milk is very healthy. I do not think that you will get the baby in march, I trust my doctor. Don't you? Did you know that only 7% of the babys come on the "due date" ? So your baby might come a week too urly. My grandma sayd that girls come a little urlyer than boys... But I don't know, we just have to wait and see..... Rolling Eyes

Well, what your leaking is not actually breast milk, it is colostrum. It is the nutrients and antibodies that your baby eats for the first three days. Then your breast milk will come in after delivery. It is ok to begin leaking at any time during your pregnancy. Do not be alarmed by it.

Also, for tx- you should not pump your breast while pregnant. Your body has a natural way for this to happen. If you do that when the baby's born, that's fine. But don't do it while pregnant. You are not supposed to have "milk" right now so don't worry. If you do or do not have colostrum leaking right now, either way is normal.

Good luck ladies
