Q: Spotting placebo pills

Hi,
about 2 months ago, I skipped my placebo pills. Then when my period came for the next cycle, but it really lasted only a day or 2... After that it seemed like I was spotting (brown discharge) for 3 days. Normally, I have a regular/light period for 5 days with little if any spottinng and ive been taking the pill for about 6 months now. This is the first time ive skipped my placebos to "alter" my cycle, so I was wondering if that is why I am discharging old blood. Thanks

It is not old blood actually, but spotting is comon when skipping periods, especially if you do it with a triphasic pill..Like otc and ortho tri cyclen low..
