Q: Pre-menopause

I am 49 years old, always had a fairly symptom free, regular menstral cycle until recently. I am in good physical condition, very active and spry. Now I am irregular, and I have very painful back strain before and during menstration. I'm concerned about the back pain. Is this a symptom of menopause? Thank you for your reply.
