Hello! I hope everyone is well and enjoyed the holidays!

About a month ago, I was hanging christmas lights and broke a bulb. While trying to remove the bulb, it slipped and left a nice gash on my hand. It took forever to heal and turned purple, etc. Now I have a nasty scar. I have tumid discoid lupus and was wondering if it would cause a cut to scar more than it normally would. I am taking 400mg of plaquenil a day, but it doesn't seem to be getting it under control as well as I would hope.

Thanks for any help!

Scarring
Hi. I have discoid lupus also and take plaquenil daily. I have alot of scarring from lupus lesions, but i've also noticed any kind of cut or sore I get on my body doesn't heal very well, and sometimes leaves a scar. I do think it's related to lupus.

I bought some "arnica" from the health store. It's supposed to help heal cuts and scrapes and help prevent scarring. I think it helps. I know i've lent it to friends to use (who don't have lupus) and it definitely helps their skin heal.

Hope that helps.

Jody
