Q: Daughter Having Seizures?

My daughter is 5 years old and has been diagnosed with 18p- chromosome syndrome......She is missing a small portion of her 18th chromosome. For the most part she is a normal child; she just has growth problems and is slightly developementally delayed.

Anyway, ever since she was little....May about 1 or 2, we noticed her doing this little thing, especially when she was tired. She would lay on her tummy, push up on her arms, and start to rock up and down slowly. Her eyes would blink, and she would be in her own little world. They would usually last less than a minute. When we would call her name, she wouldn't respond at first. Then she would either just lay down and go to sleep or would get up and go on like nothing happened. They happened more frequently when she was little. We don't see them as often, but they do still happen. I am wondering if she could possibly be having absence seizures?

One of my nieces used to do something like that, she'd lay on her stomach, stick her bum up in the air and rock back and forward and then fall to sleep.. The older she got the less it happened. I think it may just be a comfort thing, but I could be completely wrong.
