I've been active most of my life, and have always been in pretty good physical shape. But lately, over the past 6 months, i've started getting dizzy spells. Sometimes it's a minor wave through my head down, sometimes it's full on and feels like i'm "greying out".

I have tried to keep track of when they happen, trying to find a certain connnection, but have come up empty handed. I can bend over to tie my shoe, and bam...Next time, nothing. I can work out hard, and nothing, next time, lift a 5 lb weight, and dizzy again.

I've seen my doc and he ran blood tests, checked my bp, did uring tests, thyroid tests and everything, and has no idea. He though it was inner ear at first, but did some tests and treatments, and nothing.

He is pencilling me in for an appointment with a neurologist, but they are taking forever to get back in touch with me. And this is something that seriously has me freaked out. I'm only 25, but I know i'm far from safe from some really bad things.

Has anyone else gone through this? Anyone have any input? It would be very much appreciated.

Dizzy Spells
Hi there songwriter I was like yourself and having dizzy spells doctor done all the usally tests could not find anything wrong with me. Doctor set up appointment with neurologist, went and had tests and I was told that I had epilepsy that was four years ago I am on daily meds lost my driving license for a year as that is standard after being seizure free got it back renewed every three years now hope this is not the case for you better to get it checked out though. Keep note in your diary or notepad and let your doctor know of it and also if you are with anyone ask them if you have lose consciousness as this is important as well. Hope things work out well for you

Dizzy spells
As an Osteopath I usually treat the sternocleidomastoid muscles in the neck . These muscles, when overly tight can cause an abnormal pull on the ear apparatus at the back of the skull and hence cause massive dizzy spells. Go see a good Osteopath and get them to examine your neck muscles. Also a correction exercise is learning how to breath from your diaphragm. Shoulder muscles also can pull abnormally on the back of the skull, hence the reson why stress affects because people under stress will breath shallow and hunch their shoulders, thereby tightening the muscles around the base of the skull. Good luck !
