Looking For a Better Answer Posted: 04-10-06 00:30am
Well here goes. I didn't start doing coke
untill I was around 27 or so. Now I am 32
and in the last 3yrs I have done coke
every day mostly minus maybe 3 months
total time. I try to get away, but always
seem to easily go right back. The main
problem I seem to have is trying to go out
and drink without it. I am so used to
having coke make me so much better to
drive when I get drunk I forget what it
was like before I started doing it. I
don't even want to drink hardly at all
without it because of how good both of
them feel together. I know the main
problem is I hang out with people who all
pretty much do it too. Even the days when
I try to relax and stay clean I seem to
get wrapped back in. I def do way better
than I used to do with it. I went from
pretty much 6-7 days a week, and now
mostly 2-3 times a week. I think
sometimes because I got so used to
drinking and doing coke I don't know how
to do either without it. I don't even
enjoy it at all without booze. I just
need to figure out somehow to get away
from it as much as I can. I did very well
with it for a long time in limiting the
amount I would do, and not letting it
affect me as hard as others. I dont get
the hard "crash" most people get. I just
really love how I feel when doing both
coke and alcohol, which seems to be the
main problem. Well, first time poster
here, and just maybe wanted to hear from
someone in my shoes. Just really getting
tired of seeing the sun come up every
weekend.

If you really want to get clean, you don't
have to do it alone. There are people who
have gone ahead of you and broken the
cycle of addiction and can help lead you
to a happy, joyous and free life. If
you're really serious about stopping TODAY
... check out Narcotics Anonymous or a
similar 12 step program. There are
support groups are all over the world.

Well
said! I was a drinker and user for a long
time. Loved taking downers and bloody
mary's as a side kicker. I know it's not
the same as using coke but, I was really
addicted to seditives and anti mania
drugs. I went clean on my own. When I was
going through it, they did not have NA for
me to seek guidence and help. Now you have
the chance to use that tool to help you
through this. Look how much you have cut
back already! Now is the time to stop. Not
tomorrow or next week. You can do it! Be
clean and healthy.
