Hi im new, heres the deal...Me and my bf use condoms almost every time we have sex...But the past couple weeks we have rarely used them and we have had sex alot..He pulls out ( I know thats not a good method tho) but anyways I have been feeling kinda weird lately...Im tired alot, I feel bloated, I get headaches, and once in awhile out of nowhere I will feel sick. Today is the 8th and I dont get my period until around the 17th. Should I wait to see if I get my period or just go ahead and take a hpt? If anyone has a suggestion it would help tons..Thanks.

Well first suggestion...Use a condom everytime*...Not just half the time..Pull out method ..Doesnt work that well because duh you can get pregnant with pre-cum...Anyways there is a chance of pregnancy but you wouldnt be having symptoms yet...You need to wait closer to time of your period ...Either 5 days before..Or a day or two after if you miss...To take the hpt..Because if you take one now it probably wouldnt even show up...Well good luck and be smart next time and use protection if you dont want to get pregnant!!

Actually...Women can start having some symptoms during the two weeks between ovulation and your period. There are even sites dedicated to what it called the "two week wait" where ladies can share such symptoms to give hope to other women waiting to take a hpt.

But...Your best bet is to wait until your period is due. Most tests will not be sensitive enough to give you a positive result until then if you are preggo.

As for the protection thing...I understand where you're coming from...But here's the thing...The "pull out method" is for couples who aren't actively trying for a baby...But who don't really mind getting pregnant. If you are trying to avoid pregnancy...You should .N.E.V.E.R go without a condom. Also it would help to figure out when you ovulate so you can avoid sex on your most fertile days and you should also try using birth control pills.

I don't want to sound like a nagging nanny...But you even acknowledged that you know you can get preggo this way...So it's seems really irresponsible to go ahead and do it anyway. I hope for the potential baby's sake...That you decide to keep it and take responsibility for this (sorry to say) stupid mistake.

I hope all works out.
Keep us posted,
melanie

Oh...If you're curious about that site I mentioned...Here's a link:

Twoweekwait

if you want to see what symptoms some pregnant women experienced before being able to test...Look under "early pg symptoms" on the top left of the page.

You're 9 days away from having your period. There's no way you could test positive at this point. The likelihood that you're pregnant and have implanted yet is still very slim. Implantation occurs 5 to 11 days after conception. You generally conceive around (it's different for most women, but this is the average) 14 days after your last period starts. Again, this is a generality and you could ovulate (thus conceive) earlier or later than that. If your periods are regular and are 28 days apart, you most likely do ovulate on the fourteenth day.

almost right but not quite.

Ovulation occurs approximately 14 days before your period begins.
Conception is most likely at the time of ovulation.
