Hi im rhonda,
ive been battling my weight every since high school. I had my son in 1996 and I was weighing in at 301lbs. So I decided to lose the wieght my own way. I really dont call this a diet, its just minimizing your food portion size. I ate turkey, fish, chicken, and some red meats in moderation, I ate alot of fruits and veggies, I ate a few carbs here and there or none at all at times, and I didnt eat after 8:00pm, I cut out majority of the junkfood and juice and just drank soymilk orange juice and water, I still even ate the desserts I loved like chocolate, cookies ect. I just cut the portion size down. When I went grocery shopping I looked at the nutrition facts like sodium, fat, sat.-fat. It had to be as less sodium or fat as possible or I wouldnt buy it. I started taking womens one a day multivitamins too. The only exercise I did in the beginning was walk, but then I started doing the "walk away the pounds workout tapes" which really helped alot. I lost 75lbs within several months, hoping to lose an additional 36lbs or more. Its not much of a weight loss, but it was a start. I felt great, and for once I finally loved myself. I would have reached my goal if I wouldnt have gotten lazy and stuck with it. Unfortunately I didnt stick with it and I gained like half or a little more of the 75lbs I lost back. What a bummer right. Im in the process of getting up enough motivation to start my weight loss process all over again and im striving to reach my goal. So people can find ways to lose weight their own way just whatever u decide make sure u stick with it. Oh and also I think the atkins diet is good I didnt really try it but I took some of the atkins meal plan suggestions and incorporated it with my own plan except I still ate fruit, a few carbs like wheat bread, wheat pasta ect, and some sweets not too much and it worked for me.
