Vns (vagel Nerve Stimuator)
I had vns inplanted in 2002 and I believe it helps for the most part, I have been going though so much stress from my ex-husband and this is not helping my seizures. This is a out-patient operation (some doctors put the vns under the l armpit and some do not) my vns is on my chest, the doctor will set it off to work about 1 month after inplanted, mine is set for every minute. The only thing that I do not like is that it does effect my talking. When the vns goes off it feels like the throat is tighting and the tone of my voice is quieter. It does not hurt, it just feels funny.

The magnet that is used is very strong and if your son is having a seizure; you do not even have to put weight on chest to set it off, but wave it past the inplant.
