If you want the name to be pronounced mu ky ya, then you should find a different way to spell it. I read makai as muh-ki (ki rhyming with eye). Is that for a boy or a girl? Either way, I don't really like it. Hey, you asked...

I like the first name, but agree with iheartmybostonterrier...If you switch the "i" and the "a" at the end it would be easier to pronounce for ppl

I spelled it that way because that was best friend's name and I thought it was very unique. I'm angry because I just asked for someone's opinion and so I would like someone to reply that's all. But I have always liked that name but thanks for replying.

I like it alot, however I was given an unusual name....I have never in my lifetime meet another person with the same name. I know everyone wants to give their unique child an unique name, but in an effort to give this child a choice, the child, who one day shall be an adult...And may resent you(i didn't ...But was a tough name to grow up with)...Consider giving the child a unique first name but the middle name more say....Traditional, that way they have the option of going with the name they really like better. :)

It is different, it is your choice but it is the child that must live with it for the rest of her life and remember it is not the name as much as it is the person within.
Good luck!

I would pronounce it muh-keye to rhyme with eye. I don't like it or the second name, sorry.
