Is it normal to have cramping in the first trimester I am only about four weeks. The cramping comes on and off I was told the cramping is from the uterus contracting

I always heard cramping was not a good sign that early in pregnanvy, bc that is a sign of miscarriage. Later in pregnancy its a different story. I would call your doctor.
