Hullo,

did the brave thing and spoke with my gp about my ed of the last 4 years, i'm being bumped onto some specialist or another but she wants me to think about taking medication along with the therapy. She mentioned the names but my mind was racing as I was so nervous and trying to find an escape route.

Anyway, paranoia aside, I hate not knowing what is expected of me to eat, so, can anyone fill me in on the likely drugs given to those with self esteem issues/binging/purging the whole nervous bullemia shennangians?

Danke

Hi

i was medicated with attention deficit disorder drugs - dexamphetamines, which were supposed to suppress my appetite, but all they did was completely screw my head up. I dont recommend that for anyone! At the moment I am on lexapro which is selective seratonin re-uptake inhibitor, basically an anti-depressent, but I have also been on zoloft too. I find the lexapro the better of the three. Be warned though, if you are put onto any of these, so not stop taking them cold turkey. You can really mess with the chemicals in your brain.
