I posted this in the pregnancy forum before I knew there was a bc forum so here I go:

i went to planned parenthood, I got bcp, they said to start on sunday and 7 days after sunday you can do it unprotected or you dont need backup protection (ie. Condom) it also says this on there website, now im at the end of the back the dark green ones, I have 3 more left, where is my period. I feel like I am going to bleed any minute but I dont. I had unprotected sex 3 times, once I was on antibiotics for an injury (dont ask how I managed to do it while I was hurt but I did lol) , no one informed me that bc might not work if on other medication (isnt that why drs ask you wat other meds are you on)...So yeah. I took a pregnancy test and it said "not pregnant". Can bcp's alter the results of a pregnancy test? Another question, wat if you dont get ur period while taking the pills, you just start on the next pack even tho u didnt get it. I called planned parenthood and asked them these questions and lets just I figured it out, nothing but idiots work there...Can someone help please thanks.

Sometimes when you first start the pill, it can cause irregular periods until your body adjusts to it. Bcp do not have an effect on pregnancy tests. But, since you were taking antibiotics you really should retest in another week or so, to be on the safe side. And yes you can go ahead and start another pack when it is time. Good luck hun.

antibiotic that effects bcp
tetracyclines effect the way the bcp work so after you finish the prescription of tetracyclines you need to be sure to alternate birth control methods( ie: condoms of VCfs)
