Getting loaded is getting loaded. It
doesn’t make a bunch of difference what
we use to change our perceptions of
reality. The underlying motivation is
still the same.
How do I change my take on this world to a
sufficient degree to enable me to take a
pass on a reefer when someone sparks it up
right in front of me?
I am an alcoholic, I drank too much. I
also loved dope. I operated my own garden
for years. I had to quit drinking or
throw away my life, I felt I had no other
valid choice but to involve myself in
recovery. And in turn, I haven’t had a
drink in a long time.
But for something like two years, I
continued to smoke dope. What harm did it
do? It wasn’t like I was passing out or
driving drunk. It seemed to do some harm
as far as zoning out all the time, but it
was a damn sight better than being blind
drunk.
But the reality was I was still
dissatisfied with naked reality. I still
wanted to change the way I felt, and do it
fast. If I had a bag, I thought about
when could I light one up all the time. I
was still obsessing about a substance that
could alter my perceptions chemically. My
relationship with reefer was much like my
relationship with alcohol, obsessive.
I gave up alcohol in order to be free of
that damn obsession of when can I start
drinking, how much can I drink, and how
can I make it work? I applied the same
tools I learned to use against alcohol to
put down the bong,
my freedom from chemical augmentation just
gets better and better. It seems that
this getting better business is strictly
an inside job. The world around me
doesn’t change one iota, I do. And in
turn, I find I don’t need to alter my
perception of this world if I am happy
with it just the way it is.
Dan, like you said, just thinking about it
doesn’t change much. More action may be
required.

Weed Is Easy, Try Quitting Cocaine Posted: 04-07-06 08:58am
Weed is about the easiest drug to quit
abusing, your may become psychologically
addicted but think about the physically
addicting drugs like amphetamines and
coke. The withdrawals from the amp's are
hard enough, like havings seizures, I was
addicted for over 6 months. Weed is the
least of your worries. Just put your mind
to it.

It is a chemical what is easy for some is
not easy for others, if you do not think
you caan do it alone, get help! You have
made the 1st step , by admitting it, check
withmental health, please do not take me
wrong, I am not saying that you are crazy
but they might be able to lead you in the
right direction or check with the chemical
dependency places, stop hanging out with
those that do it.
The best of luck to you!
