Q: How Long Should I Leave It?

I am going to do another hpt tomorrow. I have had 2 bfns (16th and 20th march) my last period was the 15th feb so I am very late! Over the last week I have been having cramps that are like the pains I get just before my period starts (i even had to cut a shopping trip short because I thought it was af!) also my boobs feel v.Heavy but not sore, apart from this im not feeling any real symptoms.

If this turns out to be another negative how long do you think I should leave it before I visit the doctors about the reasons for my messed up cycle. Do you think I should just wait and see whether it starts this month? The thing is, my doctor never seems to be very good and I dont have much faith!

I think that you should go to the doctor now! What on earth are you waiting for? If you are pregnant an hpt would show it, so something might be up with you.

I have been irregular for the last few months, so the reason I havent been to the doctors yet is I just thought maybe I was just having a late one again and because before I was ttc (only 4 months ago) I had a normal 28day cycle I just put being irregular down to stress and frustration. As I am so irregulatr at the moment it is hard to map my ovulation so the bfns I have had could have been took too early, only tomorrow will tell,

3yrs ago my periods stopped for no reason and this went on for a long time I went to the doctors constantly over that time and was tested for thyroid problems when these came back clear my doctor didnt seem bothered by it and never did find out what happened, (before you say it, I have tried to change doctors but I only live in a small town and its not all that possible) so I know if I go to the doctors for missing one period I will just get sent away again!

Well I suppose I better get to the doctors to see if he can help, I will make an appt for weds (i would go tomorrow but its my b-day!)i think I am going to cool the ttc untill I get myself sorted this is becoming to much. :sob:

Jolie babe, your cycle seems a bit too long. Were you on a diet 3 years ago when your period stops? Weight can affect the cycle.

Jollie - do you chart your temp at all? That may help you figure out if you are ovulating or not. Were your cycles regular until a couple of months ago?

My periods have always been 28days -33days since I came of bc.
I have never understood how to chart your temp. How does it work and how do you do it?

Jolie - I use fertilityfriend.Com. You can use their basic charting system for free. All you do is take you basel body temperature each morning before you get out of bed and check your cervical mucus. You log it into the chart and it will tell you when you have ovulated. You won't get a confirmed ovulation date until after the actual day that you do but you will at least know for sure if you did or didn't. Taking charge of your fertility is also an excelllent book to read. Tons of great info.

Jollie - I had to buy a new thermometer also since I didn't have the right time. I really like keeping track of my cervical mucus and temp. It makes me feel like I finally actually know what is going on with my body. I have recommended on some other threads the book called taking charge of your fertility. You may want to check your library for it. I have only gotten about a quarter of the way through it but I have already learned a lot that I didn't know before.
