Honey, I am just guessing from things I have read from doctor reports on the top of the page...But unless she is having real rough sex or something hurting her, I can't see how she could bleed vaginally like she is doing...I would think that it is possible if her cervix was still there and something growing around the bowels or even cervix or ovaries that it could cause this but she is with so many gifted doctors that I would think that they would have found this...If the growth is vaginal?...This is also possible......

no bleeding
I was told by my OBGYN that some bleeding may happen, its normal with the sutures falling off and building new tissue. It has been 4 weeks since surgery and I havent even seen a spot or drop. I am wondering maybe its because I was taking zoladex to stop my hormones for almost one year prior to the surgery??? Dont know but I am worrying because i havent bleed. Can anyone help me?

I bled after the surgery and had to use pads...However, I was completely reconstructed...Eventually, this stopped up as it was supposed to...It was about six months later that I noticed the bleeding again...That was when I had it looked at and cauterized...This was after sex...If you had a vaginal hysterectomy without touching the cervix, this is possibly part of the surgery...I really wouldn't worry...I would consider yourself lucky....

re: 62 yr old Mom's issues
Is there any way your Mother is taking HRT for osteoporosis and that may be affecting her system? I don't know if it would after a hysterectomy, but make sure her gyn knows. Best to you!

re: 62 yr old Mother having periods after hyst.
Is there any way that Hormone Replacement Therapy may be interfering with her system in that way to cause bleeding? I'm sure her gyn would have asked about this but am just curious. Best wishes to you both!

had hysterctomy 2 hours after giving birth to my twins via csec?
I had to remove my uterus after having excessive bleeding right after giving birth to my twins. The reason is still unknown why I was bleeding so bad that time because they checked the removed uterus and nothing came out bad. I was feeling fine then after, now I am experiencing some spotting and cramping after having intercourse with my dh and also sometimes when I do physical work. I did ct scan it came out normal except my ovaries fallen down near to cervix and its normal for the woman who has no uterus thats what my doc says. But I am wondering why I am having pain and bleeding?

How long ago was this?...I am assuming you are speaking about an OB-GYN as your doctor......Sometimes the bladder will shift and come into play...If this has happened in the last 6 months and he is not concerned, then let it go for a bit...However, if it is longer, I would go farther to find out the reason for the pain and bleeding....

I am not anything medical, but just know a bit of life so these are just my thoughts..

Take care,
Caroline

Post hysterectomy bleeding
I am 2 1/2 weeks post hysterectomy and also having a bleeding issue. I was spotting off and on for the first two weeks which I am told by many in the medical field, including my doctor, is normal. I started bleeding a bit heavier 3 days ago..like a mini period. Had to switch from a panty liners to pads. My doctor told me today that I have obviously been lifting heavier items more than I should. I am extremely active and normally workout daily. I know how fortunate I am, I have been feeling great since 4 days post-op. It's tough right now because I am feeling so great, no pain, but bleeding. I trust my doctor and know that I pushed my recovery to fast. My point is, no matter how good we feel, we still have a lot of healing to do inside our bodies. I think we all, with our busy active lives, do too much too soon. Trust me, that's hard for me to say. I have come too far though and realize I need to chill out for awhile and let my body heal. If you are experiencing pain during post-op bleeding or post-op period, I do think it may be more of a concern and you should see your doctor asap.

Bleeding after hysterectomy
As an RN and a recent recipient of this lovely procedure, my advice is:

It is common to bleed "some" after a hysterectomy but not more than two tablespoons at a time. If you are, you need to see the doctor. Sometimes a stitch or two become dislodged at the top of the cervix; at times there is bllood that is in the tummy and depending on your position-it will come out. ANY unusual pain should be promptly reported to your MD as well as feeling " just not right".
To the one woman who placed a tampon in there.......that is the biggest nono ever!

I had a partial hysterctomy July 17, 2009, I am going on 6 weeks , And I am still spotting, when I seen the dr at my 4 week he was disapointed so was that the bleeding hadnt slowed like he thought it should, he wants me to come back in two months, and disguse removing my cervix, any one ever heard of a dr doing this? Iam worried because that means more bills and more time off work!

Post-hysterectomy bleeding
Just had a hysterectomy in Germany almost 3 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks after the op was just light discharge with a little blood. Now I am getting spots of new blood. It comes and goes. When I lye down it seems to stop. When I stand up it is o.k. again. Then a day later I get another little gush of fresh blood. I just read in a German forum, that this is normal, and that the stitches are dissolving. As long as it is not constantly bleeding. I feel fine, except that sometimes with a bowel movement it hurts a little with sharp pain until it has passed. I think the bowels are putting pressure against the stitches and that´s why it hurts.
Hope this is helpful.
