Hi,

i took planb last saturday. The day after completing both doses I had some breast tenderness and a headache also began getting lower abdomen cramps and a backache similar to what I experience just before my period. The breast soreness and heache were gone the following day, however my cramps and lower back ache continue five days later. I've looked extensively on the internet for other's with simlar symptoms, but keep coming back the the list of side effects that are only supposed to last a day or two. It seems to me that if planb is supposed to start your uteran lining to thin etc. It would make sense to have period type cramps and backache, but since I can't find any info on it I wonder how normal it is. Has anyone out there had a similar experience, or can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks,
d

What you are experiencing is normal! Many women who take plan b report those effects.

I've taken planb once and mine didn't just last a day or two, it was longer. Don't remember exactly how long it lasted, though.
You have to remember that what they tell you is the "common" side effects. Not the side affects *you* will experience, or the length of time you will experience them.

Thanks. I know every one is different and it made sense to me that I would have cramps, but I just got a little worried/curious when I couldn't find anything out there that talked about it. Also I had sent an email to another web-site that deals w/ec and the response I got was that some women (but not many) in clinical studies report cramps and backache, but nothing that should last more than day or two. Good to know it's 'normal'

if any one else out there has had similar experience with cramps/backache lasting past the two days i'd love to hear your story.

Thanks again!!!

Plan B, having cramps
omg! I'm feeling the same way! I'm having abdominal pain, headache and a backache! I also have some discharge, almost like I'm ovulating but I'm not sure. I'm hoping to get my period sooner than later. I'm so worried. I'm not in a healthy relationship and I can not bring another life into it. I've had a scheduled appointment for about a month for an IUD but of course it's just coming up! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that Plan B worked.
