Q: Husband's Sperm Got Problem!!

I sent my husband's sperm for a spermy test at my gyn's office on monday 27/3/06. The nurse told me that it will probably take 3-5 days for the results. She also told me that if nothing was wrong then we dun have to see the doc. But if there was something wrong, then the doc would want to see us...

On wed 29/3/06, the nurse tried calling me but couldn't... I was away on a trip. Finally yesterday, thursday she told me that the doc needs to see my husband and me.

Now I am very worried, we r going to see the doc this morning in another 1-2 hours time... I am very concerned becoz my husband was recently diagnosed with gastric problem and blood in the urine... He is scheduled for scans to check for particles or stones in the kidney/bladder area next week...

Has anyone encountered this type of problem??? Or heard of such things... I am definitely not trying for a baby this month, I need my husband to be in good shape and fitness... I am very upset that eveything is turning back at me...

What could be causing all this problem??
I feel so stressed up that I had to tell someone about my problem... Sorry if this msg bothered u all...

Hi baby,
sorry to hear about your hubby. However, nothing is cast a stone cos you have not heard what the doc say. Can I ask if your hubby is overweight?
30% of man have sperm problem, out of which 50% of them are overweight. But the good news is that they can be solve without surgery cos man produce sperm everyday. Some of which is the most common is that the sperm head or tail is deformed. If there's anything wrong I hope that it is this problem. Low sperm count is also quite common, but maybe take a bit longer to correct it.
I don't think you should jump into conclusion that the gastric, kidney and blood in urine may be causing the problem. It is quite common
i am beginning to worried cos my hubby has not been checked yet.

Gal, you have to relax and let the doc take charge....
Always here for you....

Debbie gal,

i am back with updates...

My hubby's results were relieving me off stress...

He has got low sperm count n yes he is overweight.
The results showed 70% viable sperms(normally above 40%),
20% abnormal sperms(normally less than 50%) and 10% deads sperms(normally less than 20%) and sperm count 10(normally above 20m/ul)...

So my gyn has given him some male hormone pills and is monitoring his blood pressure for 4 weeks. He said we should not have a problem, meanwhile keep trying...

So I was glad it wasn't serious... I will allow my husband to take the pills n we will try next month seriously... For this month I am going to be relax n have sex when we both want to n not fix a dateline for it... Just enjoying this month...

Debbie, I think u should get ur husband to go n check too. Then u can be relieved... N will know how to plan things next month...

Take care,
gal
