Help! I Need Some Positive Feedback Please.
Posted: 03-30-06 18:08pm

I have written before but I am so worried about my ablility to have children later on because of my irregular periods. I noticed white discharge from my breast a while ago and I went to a specialist who says its hormonal which would tie into my period problem but also that means im not ovulating regularly or at all. Im so scared that I wont be able to have babies. Does anyone know anything that can make me look on the brighter side before I go to the gyno and check to see if everything is ok. And even after I go to the gyno I dont know if I will be able to concieve and im only 20 so im young. Someone please help me out here. Thank you.

Hi there! Just keep in mind, it never hurts to get a second opinion. Nowadays they have come a long ways and their are a lot of kids and baby's that need a good home via adoption.
Good luck to you! Don't stress out as it does not help!

Thank you for the feedback. I asked my specialist about the possible problems with future fertility and she said that she would not worry about it and that if I still have irregular periods when im ttc then I would have to plan out getting pregnant really good. But even with that being said, I still wont know if I would be ovulating so that is what im soo afraid of. Is there any meds I could take to regulate periods and help hormones as well as fertility?

I've had irregular periods since my very first period. I've never had regular periods, and I began menses 12 years ago. I have been pregnant 3 times.
Having irregular periods is not an indicator of infertility.

If you really just want to have regular periods why not ask to go on the birth control pill??? I have pcos and was only having 2 periods a year at the most.....I'm 21 and i'm going to have fertility problems when I first found out I freaked.....Cried lots....I wouldn't worry the first thing i'd do is look in to the pill having a period monthy will probably easy your mind

Well, I don't know if I can shed some light but i'll try.

My sister her whole life had irregular periods and never was sexually protected with her boyfriend because she wanted a baby but they were together nine years before she got pregnant and they wern't trying at the time. Not being able to have children runs in our fathers side of the family so doctors and everyone pretty much were saying she couldn't have children. Then one day she got pregnant. Now she wants to have another child and is having the same problems she even went to the doctor and got a bad pap smear. Sometime you get pregnant when your not trying or worring so much. Take it easy i'm sure your fine some people just don't get pregnant easy. P.S I know this sounds weird but do you have a tilted uterus? Sometimes that can make it more difficult to get pregnant.

Thanks for the info. I dont want to do bc because I was on bc for 5 years and we think that is what had caused me to have irregular periods when I went off of them. Im just scared that I wont be able to have kids and that is something I have always wanted. My whole family is fertile as a field and pops out kids left and right so at least that runs in the family. The breast specialist I went to says she thinks its hormonal and that I shouldnt have a problem getting pregnant later on. I just dont know what to do to regulate hormones without the bc. Im worried!

There are some things you can take to help you conceive and it will also help your periods become more regular.I am not talking about birth contrl but I am also not sure what the meds are called. You can also buy herbal stuff online.

The patch. I just had a stupid moment and can't remember the name of it. Lol.

I stopped taking it because I read a lot about how it causes more blood clots and stuff than the pill.
