I recently did a pregnancy test and it was positive plus i'm 9 weeks late for my period so good news. However went to the docs and she wasnt helpful at all. Just said to come back in 4 weeks to make sure I havent slipped through the system. She didnt do any tests, blood pressure, test to confirm pregnancy or anything. Is this normal?

Well I am not goin to say anyting bad about your doctor but yes she should have did a blood test to be sure. Urine tests are not always accurate. I have a friend named nicole, she was only 6 weeks late on her period and she took 4 tests and they all came out negative. By the time she went to the doctor and got a blood test she was already 2 months pregnant. So I am suggesting to ask for a blood test. And I dont want ya to lie but, if it will help to get you a blood test done call your docote and tell her you took a test and it had 2 lines one really light. And then she will definatly give you one. Hope you the best.

Hi I live in uk so probably same rules apply. Doctors won't usually see you until you are 12 weeks. I had this with both children.. They didn't confirm pregnancy just took my word for it!

Yeah me to (live in uk) the dr will take your word for it if you test with a home kit as they are more reliable then theirs.
They will only do the blood test if you are getting negative results on the pee sticks and you are late with your period etc.....Or if you really are unsure of how far gone you are...

You should book in with midwife who will go through procedures with you (im having mine in 2 weeks when I am 10 weeks pg) and I got my dating scan through yesterday...Beginning of may (when im 12weeks)
ive seen the midwife already (at 7 weeks) becuase she sedns your details to get the scan sorted.... Ring up your local surgery and get app booked with midwife straight away so she can get ball rolling
