Yes it is very common knowledge that birth control pills can cause blood clots. Did you smoke? Smoking increases blood clots!!
Obesity increases blood clots!
Secondly anyone who feels pain should go see a doc!! That's what docs are there for..You should have seen a doc the second your legs hurt. That is a common sign of blood clots.

There are signs..And if you smoke stop!!!! If you are overweight, get healthy and lose!

If you actually want a "more reliable" method of birth control which does not contribute to blood clots, perhaps you may consider an iud. They are non hormonal (paragard) and as effetive as having your tubes tied, but reversible. I have one because I cannot use hormonal birth control.

Blood clot risks can raise if you have a family history, and I am sorry that this happened to you. If you like the idea of effectivenes without hormones, and iud is a goodmethod to consider.

I am shocked that they did not do an ultrasound.. Embedement is more likely to happen if you recieve an iud shortly after birth or even an abortion, so many docs will wait until the uterus goes back to its normal size before insertion. Hmmm I have never had that problem, mainly because I get an ultrasound often so I can see what my iud is up to. I had a mirena for 2 years, but the constant spotting became annoying.
