Please help me! If anyone has had the same symptoms as me, maybe you can help. For the last 7 years I have been having periods of very debillitating vertigo. It feels like I am drunk and more often than not, I fall down and get hurt. When this happens, I also get headaches. I have also been very fatigued over the last 7 years. I have had holter monitor tests and an mri, and the doctor just prescribed me some anti-depressant meds. I know I am not depressed! Other than the frustrations that come along with these symptoms, I have never been happier! My uncle has had the same complaints and they have never figured out what was wrong with him either. We both have severe kidney stone problems, but it doesn't seem like this is related. I have four children and I would like to know what this might be, and if I can pass this on. Any help would be welcome!

I don't have vertigo, but I am having somewhat similar symptoms. For about 10 months I have been getting headaches, lightheaded, I fall down-often! I fall about 3-4 times a day and it's increasing. I have muscle and joint pain in my legs. Have been tested for many different things, but none were the diagnosis for me. One doctor thought that depression caused all of this. I also know that I am not depressed, besides what has come from being 14 and having 10 months spent on caution and doctors, but it certainly did not cause it! I'm sorry that I dnn't have any personal answers for you, especially because at the moment i'm seeking my own.
Good luck!

I also was just diagnosed w/ benign positional vertigo and while it's not that bad, I am only 24 and looking forward to a life of having it re occur is not fun!

I think there are some surgeries for the more extreme cases.

Unknown Autoimmune Disease
Hi, I am 35 years old and have been dealing with episodes for the past 7 years of headaches behind the right eye, balled up muscle stiffness, difficutly walking fatigue, neurgenic bladder, dizziness. The summer of 2007 the dizziness has been so bad and I had a hard time staying awake the entire summer. I went to a neurologist which i told her my symptoms and she did a Brain MRI and discovered I have two leasions in the pons area of my brain and thats why i'm having such a hard time staying awake. The doctor put me on adderall to keep me awake. It seems to be working fine but, I'm still having issues of dizziness which can last every day, lasting for an hour to 8 hours a day and has been going on for almost a year now and doesn't seem to be going away. I do know that If I don't get enough rest, or I'm out in the cold it will bring on my other symptoms of balled up muscle stiffness.

The doctor is thinking of putting in the catagory of Mixed connective tissue disease for now. All I want is for the dizziness to stop. Has anyone had this problems? Especially the longs periods of dizziness? I have had my inner ear checked and Have been to an ENT Doc and they said everything was ok.

Help for Dizziness, Headaches
To all you having dizziness-vertigo followed by headaches at times. I may have some answers. I too suffer and have suffered these. If I bend my head a certain way, I fall down or I will just trip on nothing and fall! In addition, I was extremely dizzy for two years. The doctors did every test imaginable. The ear nose and throat doctor didn't even find anything--but I found out through my own research online that I had a crystal in my inner ear that came loose and it causes the dizziness and falling symptoms. I went to a physical therapist--they did this procedure to get the crystal back into place and voila! My dizziness was gone for several months. But it goes back out now and then so now I just have my husband do the procedure and sometimes it works. Some people can have this crystal out and put back in place for good--others have to keep going back for the procedure--it just depends on the person. It is amazing how a simple little thing can be so annoying. It took 3 doctors--$600 for an X-Ray,Blood work up, MRI and Balance tests and the cure was a $35 physical therapy appointment!! I also have a severe hormone imbalance--estrogen dominance syndrome. The imbalance (too much estrogen) actually causes nausea, vertigo and is followed by dizziness and migraines.(but the sypmtoms go after the migraine is gone) That one takes Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy--(PROGESTERONE) otherwise the doctors will put you on anti-depressants every time!!I was suicidal until my doctor gave me HRT--it was like a miracle. So use the internet and type in your symptoms--sometimes you can figure it out yourself-doctors are only "practicing" and they don't have all the aswers either. Good Luck.
