I have the following fyi:
1) you need some medicine to treat the pain and inflammation from gout attacks. You didn't mention you are taking any. See "emergency gout treatments" in
http://www.Icuredmygout.Org for more info.
2) due to its possible side effects, allopurinol is not recommended until a person has 2~3 gout attacks.
3) initiation of allopurinol can worsen gout attacks and should not be initiated until 1~2 months after the gout attacks have subsided, preferably with prophylactic use of colchicine, an nsaid, etc.
4) rapid weight loss is known to trigger gout. It's safe if you lose 0.5~1 pound per week.
5) "... A rigid purine restricted diet is of dubious therapeutic value and can rarely be sustained for long", so says a gout expert, professor a. G. Fam in "gout, diet, and the insulin resistance syndrome" at
http://www.Jrheum.Com/subscribers/02/07/13
50.Html . (if the link doesn't work, change "...Html" in the address box of your browser to "html".
6) do not use baking soda if you are hypertensive.
7) I suggest that you see a rheumatology for your gout.
Take care.
