Spotting At 19 Weeks Posted: 03-28-06 17:43pm
Hello,
i was excited to feel what I thought was
my baby's first couple kicks yesterday,
but when I went to go pee about a half
hour later I discovered that I was
spotting. It was pinkish red last night
and is very light and brown today. I had
a tiny bit of spotting in months 2 and 3,
however, this one really scares me for
some reason. I am also feeling some pains
in my lower side abdomen, but i'm not sure
if it's just ligaments stretching or if
it's something to worry about.
There have been no feelings of kicks since
the first ones last night.
As well, i've had excrutiating gas pains
that seem to happen at different times of
the day over the past week - they are so
bad that it feels like someone is stabbing
me. Is this normal? Is there anything I
can do about it?
Your advice is appreciated.
Thx.

Call your doctor's office. Some spotting
is common in pregnancy, but it never hurts
to make sure you are ok.

No spotting, in my opinion, is good
spotting. Those "gas" pains can be more
than gas. Call your .Dr...He/she might
want to see you immedietly, or just give
you some advice over the phone!!
Good luck and let us know!!

Thanks to everyone for their your advice.
My doctor was concerned so he had me get
an emergency ultrasound yesterday.
Apparently everything looks great so we're
relieved. They said that spotting, as
long as it isn't accompanied by cramps,
can be very common and that I should
ignore it (i didn't think this was the
best advice, but at least things seem to
be ok). The spotting has now subsided so
I will try to keep myself off the parinoid
wagon for as long as possible.
Thanks again for everyone's words -
sometimes it's best to hear from other
pregnant women/mothers in these matters.
