Hi I am a 34 years old and 1 year ago I had a complete hysterectomy and I have gained so much weight it aint even funny? Is there anyone out there who can help me? I have tried everything but I am not having any luck. I just joined curves for woman hoping it is going to help. But as far as having help with the over eating problem I just cant get away from that . I have talked to my Dr. He just says you have to concentrate on not eating. Well that is easier said than done. I know there is no miracle drug out there but this is getting really discouraging I have gained 80 pounds since my surgery I also had complication in my surgery. Which was not fun at all. So if anyone has any ideas or had the same kind of problem please can you help me out. And the big thing is I really have not changed my eating habits at all since before my surgery I just cant believe how much I have gained!! So any input on this problem will be great to hear. Thank you 3 little piggys

Well I am a 37 year old and I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago I have gained like 25-30 lbs since my surgery. I dont know what but I have tried to eat right, exercise, everything cant lose nothing. I guess this is one side effect. I also dont have any urge to have sex, tired, swell sometimes. I wish there was something out there to help us all to lose weight.

Interesting Discussion About Weight Gain
I had a th 12 years ago, and I gained 15 lbs almost instantly. I have diabetes and my dr is telling me to lose weight....Like you I can't lose it...5 lbs at most.
So this must be a side effect. Wish some others would share their weight problems...Are you able to take it off? How?

I am sorry, but I can't see what having a Hysterectomy has to do with gaining weight...The only thing I could see was depression, which is kind of self motivated, and then eating because we feel sorry for ourselves...Maybe it is our outlook on life rather than the weight itself...After this surgery we are the same person that we were before....Only thing is putting the knife and fork down sooner and saying that we are full...

Good luck,
Caroline

I am 42, had a th when I was 39 and gaining weight has been the number one reported problem for those who go through with a th procedure. It has been 3 years, before my th I ran 5 miles a day and maintained my weight, after I have only been able to accomplish 4 miles at the most and yet to make my scale budge. It is certain that it does something to our metabolism. I am on a journey to see what it is we need to do and I believe I may be on to something once I find it I will share.
