How do Doctors Diagnose MS? What is the Life Expectancy of

I had a TIA but my doctor sometimes leans toward MS. I was wondering what test do they determine MS and how long is the life span of someone with MS?

Thank you

Multiple sclerosis can be diagnosed via CT-scan, MRI of the head, and laboratory analyses of the brain's cerebral fluid (a liquid). The CT-scan and MRI identify lesions of the brain’s white matter typical in cases of multiple sclerosis. The CT-scan and MRI indicate nothing regarding TIA. TIA and MS may have similar symptoms but different outcomes. During TIA patients can experience a full recovery while in MS, recovery is never complete. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, progressive, life-long disease. The life span of people with MS can’t be predicted; it is very individual.
