Q: What is Causing Extreme Dizziness?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on March 26th, 2006
I have a problem with being EXTREMELY dizzy! I can tell you that it is more prevalent when I rock my head from front to back in a "YES" function. Side to side isn't as bad. Still there is sometimes a little bit of dizziness but most of the dizziness comes during head movement. If I bend over and grab something off the floor then stand upright, I get an overwhelming dizziness as if I am about to pass out. I have had these spells in short for about a month, on and off again. Only mild though and never lasting longer than a couple of minutes. However, recently they have came on very strong and have lasted for more than an hour. Being a small business owner I am not on medical insurance so it would be nice to nail down a good direction to go before I have to spend a lot of money. I am currently having a serious bout of dizziness this morning and it will not subside. Previous problems that have been chronic for me or health issues are: Neck pain from time to time causing severe headache, slightly overweight in the abdominal area, I don't exercise and spend LOTS of hours doing computer work, bad diet, VERY High Stress and while visiting Wal-Mart, which I know isn't an accurate account, I have been in the "high" category for blood pressure on the Diastolic side but normal on the Systolic side. Although I know I should see a doctor right away, I would ask that someone at least try and help me find a specific area to concentrate on. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide me.

Dizziness during head movements could be related to an inner ear disorder, so I recommend you visit an ENT-specialist. Your lifestyle, mental stress, and weight are additional factors that can lead to cardio-vascular diseases. You can also check your blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood fats as main factors for considering the risk of heart attack and brain stroke.
